Best laid plans and all - I sent Emily a pre-paid calling card to use in the airport(s) this past Monday, but for whatever reason, it didn't work. She even had the other missionaries try it, but to no avail. I think they had their own cards, too, but no luck, so a few random, kind souls let them use their cell phones to call home from the Atlanta airport. She sounded great and super excited! Not so much looking forward to the overnight flight to Buenos Aires, but eager to put her training in action to spread the Gospel. I had hoped to hear something Tuesday morning that they had arrived safely, even if it wasn't directly from her, but I had to go with "no news is good news" since I heard nothing until this morning in the form-letter-esque email below:
Dear Family.
We would like to inform you that your Daughter, Sister Chipman , has arrived safe and sound here in the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission and she is excited to help more people to come unto Christ, being baptized, confirmed to endure to the end. Righ. At this moment he is traveling to his new area and on Monday she will be able to write you and tell you how he is doing.
Best regards

Los Asistentes-"Por amor a Sión , no callaré"
I'll take it, though, and can hardly wait to hear about her first week there on Monday! :-)
